About this course
Being able to speak Thai is just one aspect of learning the Thai language.
The Thai Reading & Writing component of our classes is separated from the conversational portion, providing students with a more holistic curriculum to learning the language. However, students looking to join our Thai Reading & Writing classes need to have some basic knowledge of spoken Thai. Therefore, students are required to successfully complete Conversational Thai Level 2, before they can embark on this Thai Reading and Writing Level 1 course.
The main objective of this course is to equip students with the necessary skills to read and write at a comfortable level for general life in Thailand. By first introducing the Thai alphabet and vowels, our teachers are focused on developing our students’ reading and writing skills. Once students have recognised the Thai alphabet and vowels, they will then learn about the theory of reading and writing Thai.
Students will receive a Certificate of Completion upon completion of the course, if they meet the minimum requirements of 70% attendance.
Students requesting direct entry to any course beyond Level 1 must undergo a placement test. Click here to enquire.
Commencement date is tentative and may be subject to change without prior notice.
Why Learn Thai?
Thai is spoken by people in the North and South Eastern parts of Asia. It is a monosyllabic language, where a few words are stringed to form a sentence.
Levels Of Study
Why Take Group Classes?
An advantage of signing up for our part-time Thai classes is that it is a great place to meet other like-minded individuals who are just as keen about the language and culture. Classes held are immersive and interactive, enabling students to speak Thai to one another.
The advice from other students and sharing resources will help to ease your learning journey. Additionally, some students find that they are more committed to learning a language in a group setting as compared to a private tutor!
There are no minimum requirements for Singaporeans and Singapore Permanent Residents (PRs). Foreigners would first be required to go through an interview, to assess their suitability for this course.
Corporate Language Training
With globalisation bringing people from various parts of the world together, it is crucial for businesses to adapt and be prepared for new opportunities that may come with this change in environment. Customers coming from different parts of the world may not always understand English, which may result in a language barrier between your business and your potential partners or clients.
Thai Proficiency Test
We offer preparatory courses for Thai language exams at the GCE O-Level and universities in Thailand.
Through this course, students will learn to read and write Thai characters and short essays. In addition, students will also be exposed to new vocabulary and practice sentence structuring, where they will gain a better understanding of integrating these words into sentences. Hence, at the end of the course, students will have the ability to read and write simple words and sentences and read simple Thai passages.
