The Spanish language, also known as Castilian, is the official language of Spain. It originated from the Castile region of Spain, hence its name Castilian. Today, it is spoken in many countries especially in Central and South America, most of which once part of the Spanish colony. Since both English and Spanish have many words that are of Latin origin, students that have a reasonably good grasp on English will find it easier to learn Spanish.
